It workds for us. We liked the GE 'phone, and decided ti was better than the Uniden one we had on the first floor, so we got two of these and made the GE our prime 'phone. Moved the unidens to the second floor. The Amazon price was far and away the best we could find.
I like this phone very much. But I would recommend this phone to most everyone. The only thing I wish I could do is make the volume a little louder. You see, I am hearing impaired and I need all the help I can get. It is easy to use, install and see. It has a flashing light to let you know the phone is ringing.
GE Thomson which is the service listed number will give you a long distance number to call. I had to return the first one after 22 days because it didn't work anymore. This is a very poor quality phone. In all fairness the seller DigitalEtc isn't to blame because he doesn't make this junk, infact he tries very hard to help but what can he do except keep shipping another one to see if it will work. I received another after shipping it back and I have tried so many times to get this one to connect with the base unit but it always fails. I called the 800 number listed to get tech help with the phone but you never get to speak to a service tech. I bought a Uniden to replace it which is perfect. The GE Chinese junk is gone to a recycle dump where it belongs.
The phone appears to be quite good but wish the ringer was louder. I also wish there was an attachment that we could hang it onto a wall instead of just setting on a table or something. Guess I haven't had it long enough to really do much of a test.
After some confusion with the set-up instructions, I was very satified with the clarity, user-friendly buttons, easy-read display, and adjustments this type of phone has. Holiday gift for the folks was an excellent idea.
